Fifty-third Week - January 26, 2015

Happy Australia Day!
This week we had an amazing miracle while we were driving back from visiting a less active member.  We were in the middle lane of the road and the lane to the left of us had a huge pile up of cars.  I noticed a little red car that was trying to get out, so I slowed down and let him go in front of us.  He waved at us showing his appreciation and we continued to drive. We later pulled up at a stop light with even this same little red car and noticed that the man was Chinese.  I told Elder Hsu he should ask the guy where our next destination was as the GPS was being a little weary.  He asked the man and it turned out the guy was going to the same suburb as us and told us to follow him!  We followed him and a little while later he pulled off to a bay where cars might wait (much like a kiss and ride).  He brought over his map book and we told him that we were missionaries.  He found the address and agreed to take us to the home.  He drove us to exactly where we needed to go.  When we got there, we shared a message with him and he said he would be interested in learning.  We will be meeting with him this week!  The ways in which Heavenly Father continues to put people in our path leaves me speechless.  I know that as we serve others, the Lord softens others' hearts to the point of them accepting an invitation to learn.

This week, Elder Hsu and I spent the majority of our time looking through the Household Report at different families who are a part of the ward.  We identified families or individuals who had fallen away or off "The Old Ship Zion."  The Gospel of Jesus Christ invites us to 1. Have faith in Jesus Christ, 2. Repent of our imperfections and shortcomings, 3. Be baptized by someone holding the proper authority, 4. Receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and 5. Endure to the End.
Looking over the report this week I was left to think about the importance of Enduring to the End.  Often times this may be the hardest step on our journey back to our Father in Heaven. Each person is different, but may I invite each of us to recommit ourselves in Enduring to the End.  May we all each and every day strengthen our testimonies in the Savior through feasting on the words of Christ, praying and asking for guidance in our lives, and attending our church meetings where we may find answers and guidance to our prayers.  For those who have the ability to attend the temple regularly, we should make it a priority.  Some of the sweetest truths can only be understood within the walls of temples.  Some of life's greatest questions and paths to go down can only be fully understood in the temple.  If we know that these are just a few of the many blessings of being in the temple, then should we not go more regularly?  Furthermore, I inivte each of us to reach out to those that may have fallen off the "Old Ship Zion."  Help them back on!  Like I have said many times before, we do not need a badge to be engaged in each phase of the work of the Lord.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support!  May the Lord bless you just as bountifully as he has blessed us this week is my prayer for each one of us.

Love,

Elder Wilde
(As an added bonus this week, Elder Wilde's family received this sweet e-mail from a former companion who is now living with Elder Wilde again.)
How are you Sister Wilde? i'm Elder Wilde's former companion Elder Lee,
and we are living together again he has one of the greatest leadership quality i have ever
seen on my own, the first thing he did in this transfer is to make up the works which the previous missionaries didn't do well, he cleaned up the former investigators sheets for about 200 numbers,
although we both have serving in this area for over 10 months (i'm over 1 year...), we both feel a bit tired of it, finding people on the same road over 1 year or 10 months, but the Savior has done for me and for all of us what we can't do for ourselves. he knows our hearts perfectly and he puts the very people on our path exactly.
I Love the gospel of Jesus Christ and my mission, specially during the time i have been served alongside with Elder Wilde.

best regard
